Screw Conveyors

Archimedes in the 3rd century BC developed the 1st screw conveyor and still today screw conveyors have provided a reliable method of transporting a broad range of bulk materials for a variety of applications. Screw Conveyors are indentified as such because the inlet is always control fed by a piece of equipment that discharges the product at a specific rate. Screw conveyors move product from one location to the next by shearing and pushing the product causing it to tumble in the direction of the rotating inclined helical flight.

Screw conveyors have many advantages, and just a few are:

They are a totally enclosed system allowing for minimal product spillage
They require minimal maintenance due to very few moving parts
They convey a wide variety of products from free flowing to sluggish

Screw conveyors are available in a variety designs as well as standard sizes ranging from 4" to 24" diameter and capabilities to manufacture as large as 120" diameter with flights as thick as 2". They can be constructed out of a variety of metals such as Mild Steel, Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Hastalloy, Monel, Inconel and many other alloys.
